Quarantined people diagnosed with malaria: Health Ministry

KATHMANDU: As many as 7,956 people are staying in quarantine in Province-5.
Speaking at a regular press briefing on Saturday, Dr. Bikash Devkota, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population said that the number of people is highest when compared to other provinces.
He added that 14, 731 people are in quarantine till Saturday.
Similarly, the least number of 131 people are living in Bagmati Province.
Likewise, Spokesperson Devkota said that 30 infected persons are getting treatment in Koshi District Hospital. Out of them, the maximum is from Udayapur and an infected person from Jhapa and Bhojpur each.
According to the Ministry, 87 people are in isolation centers including three in Kathmandu Valley while 290 are marked in ‘the red zone’.
Dr. Devkota today said that some of the people in quarantine have been diagnosed with malaria, so he urged all to take precautions about it.
